I have invited John as he was my first teacher in India many years ago and has given me a solid foundation and understanding of yoga, pranayam and meditation…
I am excited to host John at Flow Yoga Studio so we can once again learn, laugh and practice together.
We will run Purna Yoga Workshops – 2 sessions, open to all levels.
Purna Yoga is a classical hatha style with a focus on correct alignment and intelligent sequencing. John developed Purna Yoga over his 30 years teaching career, combining his experience with the different styles of Ashtanga and Iyengar. Purna, meaning integrated or complete, represents the holistic approach to yoga taught at Byron Yoga Centre – integrating the physical postures with philosophy, meditation and pranayama. Introduction to Purna Yoga
Dynamic 90 min sequence
In the first session John will take participants through a dynamic 90 minute Purna sequence, offering variations for the less experienced and for those with more yoga years. John has done substantial research on the chakras and their connection to our endocrine system. This sequence has been designed to balance the chakras, addressing hormonal imbalances, opening the heart and leaving you feeling energised and joyful!
Explore arm-balances and inversions
Fun for all levels
The second session will be a workshop that progresses from basic arm balances to experimenting with more challenging poses. The sequence will include some backbending and move onto the major inversions and give students confidence to explore their potential. Variations will be given for all levels – but you’ll be challenged to experiment, with an attitude of fun!
Early booking is suggested as John’s workshops sell out.
$50 each session
$90 both sessions
